This dressmaking course introduces foundational skills and enables students to progress to intermediate projects of their choice. For beginners to intermediate level only.
10 SESSIONS
Day 1: Introduction to the sewing machine and completion of beginner projects, such as a scrunchie.
Days 2 and 3: Construction of a tote bag.
Days 4 and 5: Creation of a cushion with a zip closure.
Days 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10: Construction of a tiered skirt or loose pants with an elastic band.
You will need fabric and a sewing kit (any container) with basic tools such as bobbins, scissors, thread, buttons, etc. Feel free to use recycled fabric to practise your first stitches and get comfortable with the sewing machine.
