LEARN TO SEW AT YOUR OWN PACE. For beginners to intermediate level only.

This dressmaking course introduces foundational skills and enables students to progress to intermediate projects of their choice.

The course is self-paced and begins at an introductory level.

Topics include:

  • Sewing machine setup, threading, and safe operation

  • Fundamental stitches and seam techniques

  • Identifying fabric types and selecting appropriate materials

  • Pattern reading and layout techniques

  • Cutting and pinning methods

  • Garment construction processes

  • Finishing techniques, such as hems, edge finishes, and closures

At the intermediate level, students select projects aligned with their interests to develop further their skills. For a construction garment, participants will need to purchase their own pattern.

They will need fabric and a sewing kit (any container) with basic tools such as bobbins, scissors, thread, buttons, etc. Feel free to use recycled fabric to practise your first stitches and get comfortable with the sewing machine.

A monthly fee of €80 is required before each new term to book your slot.
