Terms & Conditions
Booking a workshop, after-school program, or course with Sew&Sow Creativity constitutes agreement to the following terms, conditions, and privacy policies. Participants should review these terms thoroughly prior to completing registration.
1. Class Terms & Scheduling
Alignment with the School Calendar: All after-school classes and workshops align with the standard Irish primary school academic calendar.
Term Duration: Each scheduled term typically runs for 4 to 10 weeks, depending on the time of year and the school schedule.
Avoidance of Breaks and Holidays: Class dates are scheduled each term to avoid school closures and accommodate family commitments. Classes are not held during mid-term breaks, Irish Bank Holidays, or standard school holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter, and summer breaks.
Confirmation of Dates: The exact start and end dates, as well as the specific weekly schedules for each term, will be finalised and clearly displayed on the website before public registration opens.
Class levels - Dressmaking:
Beginners: No prior experience is required. This level is suitable for individuals who are new to dressmaking or those returning after an extended absence.
Intermediate: This level is designed for participants who can confidently thread and operate a sewing machine, cut patterns, and have completed at least two to three simple garments. Participants should be comfortable sewing seams, hems, buttonholes, adding pockets, and inserting zips.
Exclusions: Mixed-ability classes are limited to beginner and intermediate projects to ensure adequate tutor attention for all students. Advanced dressmaking or complex couture techniques, including heavy tailoring, winter coats, or bridal wear, are not offered. Commercial alterations, repairs, and private dressmaking commissions are also excluded.
2. Pricing
Course Fees: Tuition and workshop fees are clearly advertised on the website at the time of booking. Fees may vary between terms to reflect changes in venue hire, specialised materials, and general operating costs.
Price Guarantee: The course price is fixed at the time registration is completed, and full payment is received. Any subsequent price updates or promotional changes after purchase will not affect the confirmed booking or require additional payment.
3. Bookings, Payments & Enrollment
Securing a Place: A student's place in any after-school term block or individual workshop is confirmed only after full payment is successfully processed at registration. Registration operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis; spaces are not reserved without payment.
Payment Processing: All online payments are handled securely by Stripe. Completion of a booking constitutes agreement to have the transaction securely processed in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Small Class Sizes: To ensure a high-quality, supportive, and safe creative environment, class sizes are strictly limited. When a term block reaches capacity, booking registration for that time slot will close automatically.
Late Term Intake: To register a student after a multi-week term has commenced, contact sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com to inquire about available space. If space permits, a pro-rata tuition fee for the remaining scheduled classes may be arranged at the discretion of Sew&Sow Creativity.
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Bookings for Fixed Dates and Terms: All of our after-school workshops, school courses, and adult masterclasses are scheduled for specific dates and times. Under Irish and EU consumer protection laws, scheduled leisure and educational services are exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal (cooling-off period). Consequently, once a booking is confirmed for a specific course or workshop, it is considered final and non-refundable.
Customer Cancellations & Absences: To cancel a booking, notification must be sent to sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com as early as possible. While refunds are not available, notification at least seven days before the course start date may, at the sole discretion of Sew&Sow Creativity, result in a credit note or transfer to a future workshop, subject to availability. Credits are not issued once a multi-week term has commenced.
Missed Classes & Catch-up Sessions: Strict tutor-to-student ratios are maintained to ensure a safe and supportive environment. Cash refunds or account credits are not provided for individual classes missed due to illness, personal scheduling conflicts, or travel. Make-up classes may be offered when possible. If a class is missed, the student may attend a catch-up session during the same term at an alternative class or venue, subject to available space. Advance contact is required to confirm availability, as make-up sessions are not guaranteed if other classes are fully booked.
Cancellations or Changes by Sew&Sow Creativity: Creative courses require a minimum number of participants to proceed. If a course does not meet the minimum enrollment, Sew&Sow Creativity reserves the right to cancel the course. If a workshop or course is cancelled due to low enrollment, staff illness, or unforeseen circumstances, affected participants will be notified immediately and offered either a full refund or a complete transfer of fees to an alternative date or course.
5. Equipment, Materials & Liability
Art classes: All necessary tools and art materials will be provided to pupils for the duration of the Art class.
Spanish classes: Materials for Spanish language classes will be provided to pupils during Spanish classes.
Dressmaking classes: For standard sewing classes, students must bring their own fabric and a basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, needles, buttons, bobbins, etc.), unless otherwise stated in the course description.
Sewing Machines at Venue Centres: Participants may bring their own sewing machine to venue centres to receive a course fee discount. This discount does not apply to workshops held on school premises. Participants selecting this discount must bring their machine to every class for the duration of the term. Only the exact number of studio sewing machines booked in advance at registration will be provided. Students who choose the "own machine" discount are not permitted to switch to a studio machine during the term.
Limitation of Liability: Sew&Sow Creativity, external venues, and partner host schools accept no responsibility for the transportation, storage, safety, maintenance, or repair of any personal equipment brought to class. All personal sewing machines are brought, stored, and operated entirely at the owner’s risk. Tutors will assist with basic setup and simple machine adjustments in class; however, technical repairs or mechanical servicing for personal machines are not provided.
6. Photography, Videos & Privacy
Showcasing Student Work: Sew&Sow Creativity may take photographs and short video clips during workshops and courses to showcase student projects and document the studio experience.
Privacy-First Approach: To protect participant privacy, photography focuses primarily on hands, the creative process, and finished craft projects rather than faces.
Strict Usage Rules: Any captured media is used exclusively for Sew&Sow Creativity’s official website, social media channels, and promotional printed materials. Images or videos are not shared or sold to third parties.
Anonymity: A participant's full name is never published alongside any photograph or video. Additionally, no image in which a participant’s face is clearly identifiable will be published without explicit permission.
Consent for Minor Students (Under 18s): For all children participating in after-school programs or workshops, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign a photography consent before the first class. Parents retain the right to opt out of photography at any time.
7. Communications & Contact Hours
Official Contact Method: All inquiries must be submitted exclusively by email to sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com to ensure proper receipt and tracking.
Social Media Communication Notice: Direct messages on Facebook and Instagram are not regularly monitored. Booking requests, cancellations, and official customer service matters are not processed through social media platforms.
Standard Operating Hours: Email correspondence is handled from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Emails are not reviewed or replied to on weekends or during Irish Bank Holidays.

8. Privacy, Data Protection & Trusted Partners
Secure Payment Processing: To guarantee the highest level of security, Sew&Sow Creativity does not collect, view, or store any private credit card or payment details. All online transactions are handled securely by the payment processor, Stripe. Financial transaction information is protected in strict accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Protecting Personal Information: All customer contact details, student names, and booking records collected during registration are used solely for class management, studio communications, and course updates. Customers can unsubscribe from our course update emails at any time by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email we send. Personal information will not be sold, leased, or shared with third-party marketers or outside businesses.
