Terms & Conditions

Booking a workshop, after-school program, or course with Sew&Sow Creativity constitutes agreement to the following terms, conditions, and privacy policies. Participants should review these terms before completing registration.

1. Class Terms & Scheduling

• Alignment with the School Calendar: All after-school classes and workshops align with the standard Irish primary school academic calendar.

• Term Duration: Each scheduled term typically runs for 4 to 10 weeks, depending on the time of year and the school schedule.

• Avoidance of Breaks and Holidays: Class dates each term avoid school closures and accommodate family commitments. We do not hold classes during mid-term breaks, Irish Bank Holidays, or standard school holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter, and summer breaks.

• Confirmation of Dates: We will finalise and display the exact start and end dates, along with the specific weekly schedules for each term, on the website before public registration opens.

2. Pricing

• Course Fees: Tuition and workshop fees are advertised on the website at the time of booking. Fees may vary between terms to reflect changes in venue hire, specialised materials, and operating costs.

• Price Guarantee: The course price is fixed once registration is complete and we receive full payment. Any price updates or promotional changes after purchase will not affect the confirmed booking or require additional payment.

3. Bookings, Payments & Enrollment

• Securing a Place: A student's place in any after-school term block or individual workshop is confirmed only after full payment is processed at registration. Registration is first-come, first-served; spaces are not reserved without payment.

• Payment Methods: Payments are processed via secure debit or credit card links or manual bank deposit/wire transfer.

• Payment Windows & Verification:

  • Card Link Payments: Your spot is secured instantly upon a successful card transaction.

  • Bank Transfers: Your booking remains pending until we verify the transfer. You must complete payment within 24 hours of submitting your booking request, or we will release the provisional spot.

• Late Term Intake: To register a student after a multi-week term has commenced, contact sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com to inquire about available space. If space permits, Sew&Sow Creativity may arrange a pro-rata tuition fee for the remaining scheduled classes.

• Special Discounts:

  • Bundle Discount: Get 10% off your total checkout amount when you book 2 courses at the same time (subject to availability).

  • Sibling Discount: Get 10% off your total checkout amount when enrolling more than one child.

• Important Note on Discounts: If your booking qualifies for the Bundle or Sibling discount, please contact us before booking. We will calculate your final discounted price and arrange secure payment through Revolut. Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively once a booking is finalised and paid.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

• Bookings for Fixed Dates and Terms: All of our after-school workshops, school courses, and adult masterclasses are scheduled for specific dates and times. Under Irish and EU consumer protection laws, educational services are exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal (cooling-off period). As a result, once you confirm a booking for a specific course or workshop, it is final and non-refundable.

• Customer Cancellations & Absences: To cancel a booking, notify sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com as early as possible. While refunds are not available, notifying us at least seven days before the course starts may allow a credit note or transfer to a future workshop, subject to availability. We do not issue credits once a multi-week term has started.

• Missed Classes & Catch-up Sessions: We maintain strict tutor-to-student ratios to ensure a safe environment. We do not provide cash refunds or credits for individual classes missed due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or travel. We may offer make-up classes when possible. If a student misses a class, they may attend a catch-up session during the same term at an alternative class or venue, subject to space. Advance contact is required to confirm availability, as make-up sessions are not guaranteed if other classes are full.

• Cancellations or Changes by Sew&Sow Creativity: Creative courses require a minimum number of participants to proceed. If a course does not meet minimum enrollment, Sew&Sow Creativity may cancel it. If a workshop or course is cancelled due to low enrollment, staff illness, or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify participants immediately and offer a refund or full transfer of fees to an alternative date or course.

• Revolut Processing Fees & Taxes: Please double-check your workshop, school, day, and time selections before finalising payment. If a discretionary refund or credit note is issued, any non-refundable transaction fees or processing costs charged by Revolut will be deducted from your refund to cover banking costs.

5. Equipment, Materials & Liability

• Art classes: We will provide all necessary tools and art materials to pupils for the duration of the class.

• Spanish classes: Pupils will receive materials for Spanish language classes during classes.

• Dressmaking classes: For sewing classes, students must bring their own fabric and a basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, needles, buttons, bobbins, etc.) unless the course description states otherwise.

• Sewing Machines at Venue Centres: Participants may bring their own sewing machine to venue centres to receive a course fee discount. This discount does not apply to workshops on school premises. Participants selecting this discount must bring their machine to every class for the term. We will provide only the exact number of studio sewing machines booked in advance. Students who choose the "own machine" discount may not switch to a studio machine during the term.

• Limitation of Liability: Sew&Sow Creativity, external venues, and partner schools accept no responsibility for transportation, storage, safety, maintenance, or repair of personal equipment brought to class. Students bring, store, and operate all personal sewing machines at their own risk. Tutors assist with basic setup and simple machine adjustments; we do not provide technical repairs or servicing.

6. Photography, Videos & Privacy

• Showcasing Student Work: Sew&Sow Creativity may take photographs and short video clips during workshops and courses to showcase student projects and document the studio experience.

• Privacy-First Approach: To protect participant privacy, photography focuses on hands, the creative process, and finished craft projects rather than faces. We never publish a participant's full name alongside any photograph or video. Additionally, we will not publish any image in which a participant’s face is clearly identifiable without explicit permission.

• Strict Usage Rules: Sew&Sow Creativity uses any captured media exclusively for its website, social media, and promotional printed materials. Images or videos are not shared or sold to third parties.

• Consent for Minor Students (Under 18s): For all children participating in after-school programs or workshops, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign a photography consent form before the first class. Parents may opt out of photography at any time.

7. Communications & Contact Hours

• Official Contact Method: Submit all inquiries by email to sewandsowcreativity@gmail.com to ensure receipt and tracking.

• Social Media Communication Notice: Direct messages on Facebook and Instagram are not regularly monitored. We do not process booking requests, cancellations, or customer service matters through social media.

• Standard Operating Hours: Email correspondence is handled Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Emails are not reviewed or replied to on weekends or Irish Bank Holidays.

• Response Times: Emails are typically answered within two working days during operating hours.

8. Privacy, Data Protection & Trusted Partners

• Secure Payment Processing: We do not store or directly view your sensitive financial details. All online card transactions are securely managed and processed by our third-party payment partner, Revolut Bank UAB. By completing a payment via our provided card links, you acknowledge and agree that your transaction data will be handled in accordance with Revolut's Privacy Policy.

• Protecting Personal Information: We use customer contact details, student names, and booking records collected during registration solely to manage classes, communicate with students, and send course updates. Customers can unsubscribe from our course update emails at any time by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email we send. Personal information will not be sold, leased, or shared with third-party marketers or outside businesses.

• Secure Website Hosting: Hostinger securely hosts the website, booking forms, and online store. Hostinger serves as the technical infrastructure partner and may process essential data only as needed to provide stable hosting services, maintain server security, and keep the online shop operational.
